Create and Assign an AI Assistant

Create an assistant, set its verified fields, and assign it to a channel.

Prerequisites

Workspace access and a channel that can use the assistant.

Expected result

The selected channel shows the intended active assistant.

Open AI Assistants

Use the sidebar label exactly as shown in the dashboard.

  1. Open AI Assistants.
  2. Choose an existing assistant or select New assistant.

Configure the assistant

Set the assistant name and status. Owner-level fields include Model and System prompt.

  1. Save only values supported by your role.
  2. Do not claim a provider model changed unless the dashboard confirms it.

Assign and verify

A configured assistant is not automatically proof that every channel uses it.

  1. Open Channels.
  2. Select the channel and confirm Assigned assistant and Status.

Troubleshooting

Model and system prompt fields are owner-only in the dashboard UI.
